A goldfish can swim
a thousand miles and
not get anywhere. It’s
life is mostly about
waiting for dinner. The
Holy Spirit refreshes and renews us, liber-ates us. Takes us
places
we’ve never been.
We believe life
should be amazing, what the bible calls “abundant.”
Thrilling, breathtaking, the heart thundering in your chest as
you push toward life’s next horizon. We are not talking about
religion, or trying to sell you religion. Religion is merely
man’s search for God. What we’re talking about is a
relationship. Opening ourselves to Someone who knows us
intimately and loves us unconditionally. “I have come that they
might have life,” Jesus said. “And have it abundantly.” Some
translations read, “rich and satisfying.” Thrilling.
God knows you. He wants you to know Him. That anxiety we feel,
that knot in our stomach and the uncertainty over what life
holds in store for us: a lot of that is really not about what we
have but about what we need. We fill our lives with
things, hoping to fill that need, but material things and even
people can never address what’s really bothering us.
Getting to know God begins with a simple acknowledgement that we
are not perfect. That we’ve made mistakes, that we’ve done
wrong: that we’re tired of living empty and purposeless lives.
That we want more (Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God). We know doing wrong has
consequences, but God is offering us a way out (Romans 6:23:
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord). That way out is Jesus
Christ (John 1:12: …But as many as received Him, to them He
gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe
in His name:).
We welcome and invite you to worship with us Sundays at 10:00 AM
and 6:00 PM,
and Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.
